    Digi Etherlite Terminal Servers
    Digi International's EtherLite Terminal Servers make adding 2 to 32 or more RS-232, RS422 and RS-485 serial ports to your network easy. They blend the control and performance of local ports with the convenience of an Ethernet connection.

    Since the EtherLite ports are real serial devices, they aren't weighed down by complex network terminal server overhead. The result is a much simpler configuration, less Ethernet congestion, and a much lower cost per port when compared to conventional Ethernet terminal servers.

    Reduced Ethernet Traffic: EtherLite Terminal Servers are not typical Ethernet terminal servers.     DNA Header
    Facilitating central management of your enterprise PCs in a secure, coordinated and efficient manner, NetSupport DNA combines powerful Hardware and Software Inventory with Software Distribution, Application and Internet Metering, Web Based Helpdesk and award winning Remote Control functionality.

    Hardware Inventory NetSupport DNA features a powerful Hardware Inventory module that presents a wealth of information about a specific PC, from CPU and BIOS to Memory, Memory slots used and even those available for future expansion.

    Whilst the DNA server will dynamically retrieve information from any machines that have a Client installed, in the case of remote offices outside the network, a standalone Inventory can be run, and the resulting data imported back into DNA.

    Similar to the "Add User" utility, NetSupport DNA v2 also provides a "Non Scanned Hardware" utility where peripheral equipment such as routers, PDAs or mobile phones can be manually inputted into DNA's inventory and associated with existing PCs.

    Software Inventory DNA features a detailed summary of all applications detected on a target PC, this information including supporting application Icon is displayed on either a PC by PC basis or on a group basis where totals (with a drill down) for each application are shown.

    Applications gathered can be customised to group differing versions of a common application, reflect company licence limits, group application by category type and more.

    In version 2, this functionality has been expanded by additionally providing the ability to search target folders and report back on all files that match your pre-defined criteria. For example, searches can now be carried out to list all .mp3, .avi, .doc files or similar.

    History Effective Asset Management not only relates to knowing what assets are currently located on the network but also to being able to identify historical changes. The new History option in DNA 2.0 enables you to track changes to a Clients Hardware and Software. Each time DNA gathers Inventory data it compares the current details against information already held on the server and if there are any differences they are recorded in the History.

    Application Metering The DNA application Metering component reports back all applications used on a Target PC, details reflect the time the application was started and finished, the actual time it was in use and when viewed at departmental level, summaries by frequency of use or by duration are shown.

    In addition application usage can be restricted on target PCs by the Time of Day, a department or usage can be limited to specified PC's.

    Internet Metering Like Application Metering, the DNA Internet Metering Module provides a detailed summary of activity on a user PC, in this case for Internet (or Intranet) activity. URL's visited, duration on a page and page analysis within a specific URL are all recorded. DNA even provides a quick link to review a specific URL.

    Internet Metering also provides the Operator with the ability to restrict URL access based on its status of Approved or Restricted and by a flexible time based policy.

    Distribution DNA provides a multi delivery option for software distribution. To begin an Operator can define a Software package to be deployed - this can either be a collection of Files and Folders specified with appropriate action parameters to be applied once delivered to a target system or by recording and scripting any user prompts required during an application installation so that the package can be deployed onto a users system without intervention.

    Once created the application package can be automatically "Pushed" to target PCs for deployment or "Published" centrally. Once Published a User can check to see which applications are available for their PC and install these on Demand.

    New in DNA 2.00, To ease network traffic congestion when executing large-scale deployments, DNA enables you to nominate Clients, ideally local to the target machines, to act as a 'distribution warehouse'. When the Package is deployed, rather than the server pushing it to each Client in turn, it sends the distribution package to the DNA Warehouse Client, which then distributes it to the remaining targets over the local lan segment.

The power supplies are hot swappable so they can be replaced while the chassis is running.     Redundancy of SNMP management is also available by placing two primary management modules in a chassis or a stack of chassis. The management modules negotiate primary and secondary responsibility to manage the chassis or stack of units. In the event the primary management module fails the secondary unit takes control.

    Furthermore, each individual converter maintains its feature configuration within a microcontroller on the converter card. If a management module fails the cards will stay up and running because the configuration information is not lost with the loss of a management module. Each card and power supply has built in surge protection to protect the unit from power surges. The power supplies are equipped with a standard 4-amp fuse and can be repaired in the field.

    When multiple chassis are connected to each other the SNMP management protection in case of failure becomes critical. Healing Bus enables the users to maintain full control of the daisy chained chassis so that the failure of any one module will not effect remaining modules in the stack.

    Digi Connect ES Serial Ethernet Servers and Switches

    Digi Connect ES provides mission-critical serial over Ethernet connectivity for applications requiring extended electrical safety. It is the first IEC 60601/EN60601 compliant device of its kind and consists of four, eight or 16 RS-232 serial ports with galvanic isolation and a 10/100 Mbps network interface. The eight- and 16-port models offer two additional Ethernet ports for devices with a network interface, allowing the Digi connect ES to function as an Ethernet switch in addition to a serial port server. Common applications include providing Ethernet connectivity from serial devices such as ventilators, EKGs, patient monitoring systems, infusion pumps and glucose meters to a central data management system.

    Galvanic isolation provides extended electrical safety. There is no electrical path from port to port, preventing a ground fault from disrupting the operation of the Digi Connect ES or of any device connected to it. Similarly, there is no electrical path for current to earth ground, ensuring no electrical shock when making physical contact with the Digi Connect ES.

    Digi's patented RealPort® COM port redirector technology makes it possible to establish a connection between the host and a networked serial device by creating a local COM or TTY port on the host computer, allowing existing software applications to work without modification. Incoming/outgoing and Telnet sessions on each port give system administrators a high level of control over networked serial devices. Other features include Secure Shell (SSH v2) encryption to protect against unauthorized network monitoring or "sniffing."

    ConnectPort Display is a network-enabled video display hub. It provides one VGA or SVGA video port and multiple serial and USB ports for human interface devices such as a keyboard, mouse or touch panel.

    With ConnectPort Display, you can create a zero-client retail environment since you no longer need a dedicated PC, workstation, or thin client for each POS station. You can run your application on a back room server or PC and connect all of your peripheral devices at each service point.     This attractive specification enables a complete desktop to be located remotely, including a keyboard, monitor, touch-screen display, mouse, disk drive, flash memory stick, webcam, and any other device that would normally be plugged into your computer's USB port.

    The X-USB receiver unit includes an integral 4 port USB hub to enable you to connect a multiplicity of devices. More devices may also be connected by cascading USB hubs if necessary. Most USB 2.0 devices will work happily in USB 1.1 mode and so almost all USB devices are supported by the extender.

    Set up is extremely straightforward. A recessed screw is provided for fine cable equalisation and separate controls are provided for brightness adjustment. All other operation is 'plug and play' as no USB configuration is required.

    Audio features may be supported via the USB link or, alternatively, a second CATx cable may be connected to provide high fidelity stereo audio and microphone support via standard PC-style audio jacks.

    To ensure high compatibility across a wide range of devices, the X-USB is fitted with DDC (Display Data Channel) support and advanced spike suppression circuits. DDC functions are required for Sun and high resolution video card compatibility and the spike suppression circuits increase reliability in electrically noisy installations.

    Like all X-Series products, the X-USB may be used as a stand alone device or rack mounted in the X-Series chassis. Up to 16 units may be fitted into 2U of rack space providing industry-leading rack densities.

    Other X-Series units may be used to provide multi-head extension solutions and the AdderView Prism may be used to provide local access to the computer. The X-SKEW compensator may be used to compensate any colour skew effects introduced by certain types of long CATx cable.

    The X-USB is compatible with PC, Sun and Mac computers running operating systems that support USB devices.

    The SmartView World offers a unique mix of local (server room), regional (office-wide) and global (IP based) server control to match the needs of network managers. KVM consoles may be directly attached to provide local control in the server room. Integrated extender ports enable control consoles to be located in offices up to 200m away and linked via Cat5/6 cabling. For wider access the SmartView World provides secure Intranet, Internet or dial-in IP control so users can gain access to servers from any PC on the company's internal network or from anywhere around the world.

    The SmartView World supports four simultaneous users, sixteen computers and is cascadeable to support up to 500 multi-platform computers using Adder's XPro or Matrix switches. Almost all common types of computer may be connected using Adder's PS/2, USB and Sun style KVM cables. One of the user ports is local, one operates via IP and the other two support both local and twisted pair extension connections.

    The IP port is rich in features and is easy to use via its graphical interface which operates from within a standard web browser. A powerful array of security features are provided for peace of mind including dual-level IP and KVM security systems. Dial-in access and client IP address restriction features offer further security where required. In standard configuration mode the IP port will not require additional firewall ports to be opened, making the product popular with system administrators.

    Power control is an integral part of remote server management. Because many servers have more than one power supply, the SmartView World provides an on-screen-display driven interface that enables up to four power feeds to be associated with each computer and controlled by users in a simple manner.
